I made photographic masks of Barbie Doll, Ken Doll, and He-Man and actors wore the masks “in situ” in these constructed tableaux. These images were made before photoshop, so they are single exposure images.

The un-awakened Barbie inevitably marries Ken. "They were made for each other", but a seed of independence and rebellion is growing, and she discovers He-Man. However, He-Man is an impetuous hungry child, bent on domination. Armageddon follows.

These photographs are in the collection of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and were shown in a touring show that started at Stills Gallery in 1990, and at Street Level Photoworks in 2012.
