There is a belief in many cultures that woodland may contain spirits or ghosts. Woodland is seen as a sanctuary for humans but also a dangerous place.



During lockdown, I spent a lot of time in woodland and found places where I thought spirits might dwell. I was thinking about the human life cycle, and about death, and came up with the idea of projecting archival images of babies into trees. The projected images are of myself, my mother, and my daughter.
